Aeternus

Aeternus draws its name from the concept of puer aeternus, a Latin term meaning "eternal boy," with the feminine form known as puella aeterna. In mythology, a puer aeternus refers to a child-god who remains eternally young. The term was later adopted by Carl Jung in his analytical psychology work to describe an older person whose emotional development has remained at an adolescent level, a condition also recognized in contemporary pop-psychology as "Peter Pan syndrome." According to Jung's theory, individuals exhibiting puer characteristics typically live a provisional life, driven by fear of becoming trapped in inescapable situations. These individuals are characterized by their strong desire for independence and freedom, their resistance to boundaries and limitations, and their general intolerance of any form of restriction.
