Pronounced AL-iss-AN-ə, Alesana is an American emo and post-hardcore band from Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in the fall of 2004 by Shawn Milke, Dennis Lee, Patrick Thompson, Steven Tomany, and Daniel Magnuson, the band has established itself as a notable presence in the alternative music scene. Currently signed to Revival Recordings and Artery Recordings, Alesana has released five full-length studio albums and three EPs throughout their career. The band initially gained underground attention following their debut album, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, which showcased a musical style drawing influences from pop, punk, metal, and classic rock.
