Amyl and The Sniffers

Melbourne-based Australian pub rock and punk band Amyl and the Sniffers features vocalist Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Declan Mehrtens, and bassist Gus Romer. The group released their debut album in 2019, followed by their second album Comfort to Me in 2021 and their third album Cartoon Darkness in 2024. They have received nine ARIA Award nominations and won three awards, including Best Group in 2022. The band's name derives from the slang term for amyl nitrite, commonly known as poppers. Taylor has described their music as comparable to the drug's brief but intense effect, noting that in Australia poppers are called Amyl and the experience lasts about 30 seconds before resulting in a headache. Their sound has drawn comparisons to 1970s punk rock acts such as Iggy Pop and the Stooges and the Damned. Taylor's musical influences are diverse and span multiple genres, ranging from Minor Threat and Ceremony to AC/DC, Sleaford Mods, Dolly Parton, and Cardi B.
