The Three Arrows, known in German as Drei Pfeile, is a political symbol with historical significance in twentieth-century European politics. Originally conceived for the SPD-dominated Iron Front, the symbol was designed in 1932 to represent social democratic resistance against Nazism. It was officially adopted by the Social Democratic Party of Germany during the November 1932 German federal election. The Three Arrows represented the party's opposition to three distinct political movements: monarchism, Nazism, and communism. Since its creation during the late Weimar Republic period, the symbol has been widely adopted and used by numerous organizations across different contexts. Many anti-fascist, social democratic, and socialist organizations have employed the Three Arrows as a symbol representing their political positions and values.
