Formed in Oldenzaal, Overijssel in 1987, Asphyx is a Dutch death/doom metal band that was originally created by Bob Bagchus and Tony Brookhuis. The band has undergone significant lineup changes over the decades, with no original members remaining as of 2014. Among the current roster, vocalist Martin van Drunen stands out as the sole long-term member who also appeared on the band's debut album, making him a crucial link to their early history and sound.
