BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii metal band formed in Tokyo in 2010, blending heavy metal with Japanese idol music. Led by Su-metal, Moametal, and Momometal, the group is produced by Kobametal and backed by session musicians called the Kami Band. Originally a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin, BABYMETAL became independent in 2013. The band has released five studio albums, with their latest, Metal Forth, arriving in August 2025 and featuring international collaborations with artists including Electric Callboy and Tom Morello.
