Formed in 2015 in Aarhus, Denmark, Baest is a death metal band whose name is derived from the Danish word meaning "beast" or "brute," originally spelled Bæst. The group signed to Century Media Records in March 2018, marking a significant milestone in their career. Since that signing, they have released four studio albums that showcase their evolution as musicians. Their debut album Danse Macabre came out in 2018, followed by Venenum in 2019. The band continued their output with Necro Sapiens in 2021, demonstrating their commitment to consistent creative work. Most recently, they released their fourth studio album, Colossal, in 2025. Through these releases, Baest has established themselves as a notable presence in the death metal genre.
