Black Eyed Peas are an American musical group formed in Los Angeles in 1992, composed of rappers will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo. Fergie was a member during the height of their popularity in the 2000s before leaving in 2016. With an estimated 80 million records sold, they rank among the best-selling musical acts of all time, achieving 12th place on Billboard's 2000s Decade-End Artist of the Decade Chart and 7th on the Hot 100 Artists of the Decade. Originally an alternative hip hop trio, the group signed with Interscope Records and released two albums before rebranding as a pop-rap act. Their third album, Elephunk (2003), marked their mainstream breakthrough, with the lead single "Where Is the Love?" featuring Justin Timberlake reaching number one in 13 countries.
