Bloc Party is an English rock band formed in London in 1999 by Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack. Their music blends rock with electronica and house elements. The band achieved critical acclaim with their 2005 debut album Silent Alarm, which won NME Album of the Year. Subsequent releases A Weekend in the City and Intimacy reached high chart positions in the UK and US. After a hiatus beginning in 2009, they reunited in 2011 and released their fourth album Four. The band has experienced lineup changes over the years while maintaining its core founding members.
