Founded in Omaha, Nebraska by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band known for its distinctive sound and collaborative approach to music. The band's core lineup includes Oberst alongside multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, and arranger, composer, trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott. Beyond these founding members, Bright Eyes has consistently featured a rotating cast of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's vibrant indie music scene. From 1998 to 2011, the band released their albums through Saddle Creek Records, a Nebraska-based label founded by Justin Oberst, Conor's brother, and Mogis. After a period of hiatus, Bright Eyes announced their return in January 2020 upon signing with Dead Oceans. The band's most recent album, Five Dice, All Threes, was released in September 2024.
