About
Cane Hill was a psychiatric hospital located in Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon. Built during the 1880s, the facility operated under the motto "Aversos compono animos," which translates to "I bring relief to troubled minds." The hospital served its purpose for many decades, but beginning in the 1960s, its utilization began to decline. This gradual decrease in use eventually led to the hospital's complete closure in the 2000s. Following its closure, the former hospital site came under the ownership of GLA Land and Property.
