An American indie rock band, Car Seat Headrest formed in Leesburg, Virginia and is currently based in Seattle, Washington. The group comprises Will Toledo on vocals, guitar, piano, and synthesizers, Ethan Ives on guitar, bass, and backing vocals, Seth Dalby on bass, and Andrew Katz on drums, percussion, and backing vocals. The project began in 2010 as a solo recording venture by Toledo, who self-released 12 projects on Bandcamp between 2010 and 2014. After signing to Matador Records in 2015, the project evolved into a full band, with the members beginning to tour together the following year. Since becoming a full band, Car Seat Headrest has released seven additional albums.
