Franck Hueso, known professionally as Carpenter Brut, is a French darksynth musician from Poitiers. He began his career by releasing three EPs between 2012 and 2015, which were later compiled into the album Trilogy. His subsequent studio albums include Leather Teeth, Blood Machines OST, and Leather Terror, along with the live album CarpenterBrutLive. Most recently, he released Leather Temple in 2026. Beyond his original work, Carpenter Brut has contributed music to various film and video game soundtracks. His artistic approach deliberately emphasizes anonymity, prioritizing the music itself over the musician's public identity. He creates by blending sounds from horror films, metal, rock, and electronic music into a distinctive darksynth style. During live performances, he is accompanied by guitarist Adrien Grousset and drummer Florent Marcadet, both members of the French metal band Hacride.
