Formed in Denver, Colorado in 1992, Cephalic Carnage is an American death metal band known for their technically proficient deathgrind style. The band's current lineup includes vocalist Leonard Leal, guitarists Steve Goldberg and Brian Hopp, drummer John Merryman, and bassist Nick Schendzielos. Throughout their career, they have released six studio albums and performed extensively across North America, Europe, and Japan. Beyond their deathgrind foundation, Cephalic Carnage is recognized for their prolific experimentation with various genres and their incorporation of humorous tracks into their albums, including parodies of black metal and metalcore. The band refers to their distinctive sound as "rocky mountain hydro grind."
