Christopher Aubrey Shiflett is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist for the rock band Foo Fighters, which he joined in 1999 following the release of their third album There Is Nothing Left to Lose. Born on May 6, 1971, Shiflett has had a diverse music career spanning multiple genres and projects. Before joining Foo Fighters, he was a member of the punk rock bands No Use for a Name from 1995 to 1999 and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes from 1995 to 2019. Beyond his work as a lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Shiflett has fronted his own bands including Jackson United and Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants. He has also pursued a solo career, releasing multiple albums including his third solo album, Lost at Sea, which came out in October 2023. In recognition of his contributions to rock music, Shiflett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a member of the Foo Fighters.
