City and Colour

City and Colour is the musical project of Dallas Michael John Albert Green, a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer born on September 29, 1980. Green is also recognized as a singer, rhythm guitarist, and co-founder of the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. Under the City and Colour name, he debuted his first full-length album, Sometimes, in 2005, which achieved platinum certification the following year. The project began as an outlet for performances in small, intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. The name City and Colour derives from Green's own name, combining Dallas, which is a city, and Green, which is a colour. Green chose this name because he felt uncomfortable releasing the album under his own name.
