Michael John Burkett, known professionally as Fat Mike, is an American musician and producer born on January 16, 1967. He serves as the bassist and lead vocalist for the punk rock band NOFX and is the cofounder and bassist of the punk rock supergroup cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Burkett's music career began with his first band, False Alarm, in 1982. Throughout NOFX's existence, he and rhythm guitarist Eric Melvin remained the only constant members of the band's lineup. As a musician, Fat Mike is known for playing bass with a guitar pick rather than using traditional fingers. Beyond his work as a performer, he established himself as a record label owner and founder of Fat Wreck Chords, further solidifying his influence in the punk rock music industry.
