Cognitive

About

Formed in 2011, Cognitive quickly established themselves as a notable presence in the underground death metal scene despite their relatively brief history. The band has performed across eleven states and has shared stages with prominent acts including Macabre, Cattle Decapitation, Waking the Cadaver, and Internal Bleeding. In July 2012, they self-released their debut EP, The Horrid Swarm, which showcased their distinctive approach to the genre. Following this initial offering, Cognitive prepared to release their self-titled full-length album, which promised to build upon the foundation established by their debut EP. The upcoming release was expected to deliver the same combination of technical proficiency, heavy grooves, and brutal intensity that characterized The Horrid Swarm, demonstrating the band's commitment to pushing the boundaries of death metal with unmerciful technicality and pummeling sound.
