Born December 8, 1973, Corey Todd Taylor is an American musician, songwriter, author and actor best known as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Slipknot, where he holds the designation #8. He is also the lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Stone Sour, which he co-founded with drummer Joel Ekman in March 1992 in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Taylor joined Slipknot in late 1997, replacing original lead singer Anders Colsefni, and has since released seven studio albums with the band. After the first two Slipknot albums achieved Platinum status, he revived Stone Sour to record and tour in 2002. Beyond his work with these primary projects, Taylor has collaborated with numerous artists including Korn, Disturbed, Apocalyptica, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Avenged Sevenfold, and many others. He released his debut solo studio album, CMFT, in 2020, followed by his second solo album, CMF2, which came out on September 15, 2023.
