Sam James Matlock is an English guitarist and singer born on 16 March 1993. He initially formed the rock band Dead! in 2012, which achieved chart success with their 2018 album The Golden Age of Not Even Trying, entering the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. Following Dead!'s split, Matlock established his own band Wargasm in August 2019 alongside musician Milkie Way. The project gained significant recognition when their album Venom entered the UK Albums Chart in 2023. Beyond his work with these bands, Matlock has contributed to other musical projects, including co-writing the song "Doomsday Blue" with artist Bambie Thug and performing live with musician Jamie Lenman. In November 2021, Matlock received media attention following an assault at the venue Scala by security guards, who were subsequently terminated from their positions.
