Formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret "Epic" Mazur and Shifty Shellshock (Seth Brooks Binzer), Crazy Town was an American rap rock band that achieved mainstream success at the turn of the millennium. Their 2000 single "Butterfly" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, propelling their debut album The Gift of Game to sales exceeding 1.6 million units. The band's follow-up album, Darkhorse, released in 2002, did not replicate this commercial success, leading to their breakup in 2003. Mazur and Binzer reunited in 2007 and released their third album, The Brimstone Sluggers, in 2015. Following Mazur's departure in 2017, Binzer rebranded the group as Crazy Town X. The band released the EP Flirting with Disaster in March 2024, though Binzer's death in June 2024 left the band's future uncertain.
