Formed in 1984, Cryptic Slaughter is an American crossover thrash band based in Santa Monica, California. The band has been regarded as influential in both hardcore punk and crossover thrash music. They have earned the distinction of being dubbed "The original speedcore merchants" for their contributions to these genres.
