Daedric is an entity from The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, the second expansion pack for the role-playing video game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The expansion was developed, published, and released by Bethesda Softworks, with retail co-publishing by 2K Games. It was released for Microsoft Windows in boxed retail edition on March 26, 2007, and for Xbox 360 digitally on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The expansion takes place on the Shivering Isles, which are ruled by the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath. In the game's narrative, the player becomes Sheogorath's protégé and works together with him to defeat Jyggalag, the Daedric Lord of Order, in an effort to prevent the isles from being destroyed. The main quest can be ignored by players who wish to explore the new world at their own pace. The expansion is often considered to be Bethesda's best expansion pack and is regarded as one of the best expansions in video game history.
