Danzig

About

Formed in 1987 in Lodi, New Jersey, Danzig is an American heavy metal band led by vocalist and keyboardist Glenn Danzig, whose real name is Glenn Anzalone. The band emerged from Danzig's previous project, Samhain, and featured guitarist John Christ, bassist Eerie Von, and drummer Chuck Biscuits in its classic lineup. The group achieved major commercial success with a live version of their 1988 song "Mother," which became a significant hit. Danzig's musical style blends gothic atmospheres with blues-infused rock and metal elements. Glenn Danzig previously fronted the Misfits before forming this band. As of 2023, the group has released an extensive discography including 12 studio albums, two of which consist entirely of cover versions, along with two EPs, one live album, and one compilation album.
