Dark Crucible is the second studio album by heavy metal band Halford, originally released in 2002. A remixed and remastered edition followed in 2010. The album marked a deliberate shift in direction for the band, departing from the traditional metal themes explored on their previous work. Unlike the retrospective approach of the album Resurrection, Crucible was designed as an intentional stylistic departure. The record has been characterized as harder, darker, and more moody compared to Resurrection, showcasing the band's evolution and willingness to explore new sonic territory within the heavy metal genre.
