Swedish melodic death metal pioneers, Dark Tranquillity formed in Gothenburg in 1989 and helped establish the region's influential metal scene alongside At the Gates and In Flames. After nearly three decades with their founding lineup, significant changes between 2015 and 2021 left vocalist Mikael Stanne as the sole original member. He performs alongside keyboardist Martin Brändström and current members Johan Reinholdz, Peter Lyse Karmak, Christian Jansson, and Joakim Strandberg Nilsson.
