Daniel "Dee" Snider is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and media personality born on March 15, 1955. He is best known as the former lead singer and songwriter of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister. The band achieved significant chart success with their 1984 song "We're Not Gonna Take It," which reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and was ranked No. 47 on 100 Greatest 80's Songs. Beyond his work with Twisted Sister, Snider formed and served as lead singer in several other heavy metal bands, including Desperado, Widowmaker, and SMFs. He has also pursued a solo career, releasing multiple solo albums throughout his musical journey. His contributions to heavy metal music have been recognized within the industry, as he was ranked #83 in the Hit Parader's Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time.
