Descendents

Formed in Manhattan Beach, California in 1977, the Descendents began as a power pop and surf punk band before evolving into a melodic hardcore punk group. Guitarist Frank Navetta, bassist Tony Lombardo, and drummer Bill Stevenson founded the band, later joined by singer Milo Aukerman in 1979. The group became a major force in the Los Angeles hardcore scene during the 1980s. Since 1986, the stable lineup has featured Aukerman, Stevenson, guitarist Stephen Egerton, and bassist Karl Alvarez. The band has released eight studio albums, three live albums, three compilations, and four EPs.
