Founded in 1994 by Amy Lee and Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas, Evanescence is an American rock band. Their debut album Fallen achieved massive success with hit singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal," earning two Grammy Awards. The Open Door followed in 2006, while their 2011 self-titled album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. After becoming independent in 2014, the band released Synthesis in 2017, featuring orchestral arrangements performed with live orchestras for the first time. Their fifth studio album, The Bitter Truth, released in 2021 and reached the top five of multiple Billboard charts.
