Eyehategod

Eyehategod is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana that formed in 1988. The band has maintained a remarkably stable core lineup since its inception, with the exception of the bassist position, which has been filled by several musicians throughout their history. The group experienced a significant change in 2013 with the death of drummer Joey LaCaze. As of 2021, Eyehategod has released six studio albums. The band has had notable connections within the underground metal community, including a friendship with grindcore group Anal Cunt. Eyehategod performed with Anal Cunt for the first show following the revival of Anal Cunt frontman Seth Putnam from a 2004 coma. In 1996, Putnam had previously filled in for Eyehategod's Mike Williams at a show in New Orleans during Mardi Gras when Williams was out of town.
