Formed in Belton, Texas in 2002, Flyleaf is an American rock band that has achieved success across mainstream rock, Christian pop, and Christian rock charts. Following performances throughout the US in 2003, the band released their self-titled debut album, Flyleaf, in 2005. The album achieved platinum status after surpassing one million copies sold. Their second album, Memento Mori, arrived in 2009 and debuted at number eight on the Billboard charts. Shortly before releasing their third album, New Horizons in 2012, lead vocalist Lacey Sturm announced her departure from the band. Kristen May took over as the new lead vocalist and remained with Flyleaf until August 2016. The band entered a period of inactivity before announcing in November 2022 that Sturm had rejoined the group.
