Gammacide was one of the notable bands supported by Wild Rags Records, an independent record label and store founded in 1986 by Ricardo Campos, known as Richard C. Based in Montebello, California, Wild Rags Records earned the distinction of being called "The Worlds Smallest But Heaviest Record Label." The label played an instrumental role in launching the early careers of numerous influential extreme metal bands, helping to establish itself as a pioneer in the underground extreme metal community. In addition to its record releases, Wild Rags Records produced a monthly subscription zine called the Wild Rag, which boasted over 30,000 subscribers and featured the latest extreme metal releases, news, and artwork from both the label's roster and the world's biggest metal bands. Through these efforts, Wild Rags Records became a cornerstone institution for extreme metal fans and musicians during the label's active years.
