Born in 1638, Luigi Garzi was an Italian painter who worked during the Baroque period. His artistic development was significantly shaped by the influence of Guido Reni, a prominent painter from Bologna. Garzi's style reflected the principles and techniques he drew from studying Reni's work, establishing himself as part of the broader Baroque movement that flourished across Italy during the seventeenth century. He continued his career through much of his life, remaining active as a painter until his death in 1721.
