Born February 24, 1950, George Lawrence Thorogood is an American musician, singer and songwriter known for his high-energy boogie-blues sound that became a staple of 1980s US rock radio. His original hits include "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone," which helped establish his prominent place in rock music history. Beyond his original compositions, Thorogood has also helped popularize classic American songs such as "Move It on Over," "Who Do You Love?," and "House Rent Blues/One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." Performing with his band The Destroyers, formerly known as The Delaware Destroyers, Thorogood has released over 20 albums throughout his career. His commercial success is evident in two Platinum certifications and six Gold certifications, with total worldwide record sales reaching 15 million. The band continues to maintain an active touring schedule and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary of performing in 2024.
