These berries may be green, orange, red, purple, yellow, white, or black, offering diverse visual and culinary characteristics. The pronunciation of gooseberry varies by region, with American and northern British speakers typically pronouncing it as GOOSS-berr-ee or GOOZ-berr-ee, while southern British speakers pronounce it as GUUZ-bər-ee.
