Gozu

Gozu emerged in 2008 with the release of a seven-track EP, featuring members from bands including Wargasm, Clouds, Superhoney, and Miltown. Led by frontman Marc Gaffney, also known as Gaff, the band delivers rock music with strong groove elements. Their early work included songs such as "Rise Up" and "Meth Cowboy." The band's sound has been compared to early Queens of the Stone Age. Following a lineup change, bassist Jay Cannava joined from Miltown and Clouds, solidifying the group's composition. Guitarist Doug Sherman contributes riffs and solos while drummer Barry Spillberg provides the percussion. Small Stone Records signed Gozu in 2009, and the band began work on their debut album for the label at that time.
