Founded in 1998, High On Fire is an American heavy metal band based in Oakland, California. Led by frontman and guitarist Matt Pike, the group has established itself as a significant force in the metal music scene. Pike also plays guitar for the band Sleep alongside his work with High On Fire. The band achieved major recognition in 2019 when they won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for their song "Electric Messiah". Throughout their career, High On Fire has released nine studio albums, demonstrating a prolific output and sustained creative output. Their most recent album, Cometh the Storm, was released in 2024, continuing the band's legacy in heavy metal music.
