Welsh rock band Holding Absence formed in Cardiff in 2015. The current lineup features lead vocalist Lucas Woodland, guitarist Scott Carey, and bassist Benjamin Elliott. None of the founding members remain with the group. The band took their name from the title of the song "Holding Your Absence" by Hammock. Holding Absence released an initial collection of singles in 2017 and collaborated with Loathe on a split EP in 2018. Their debut record, also titled Holding Absence, arrived in 2019. The band is signed with SharpTone Records.
