Ice Nine Kills is an American heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, known for horror-themed metalcore. Originally formed in 2000 as ska punk band Ice Nine, the group shifted to metalcore in 2010. Spencer Charnas is the sole remaining founding member. Signed to Fearless Records, the band has released six studio albums, including The Silver Scream, which peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard 200, and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, which reached number 18. Their name derives from Kurt Vonnegut's 1963 novel Cat's Cradle.
