About
Formed in spring 1983 in Minnesota, Impaler is an American heavy metal and speed metal band known for their horror-themed aesthetic. The band's theatrical live performances feature elaborate stagecraft including fake blood, cages, coffins, latex severed heads, and a mock disemboweling finale that has become a signature element of their shows. The original lineup consisted of Bill Lindsey on vocals, Michael James Torok and Mike Senn on guitar, "Commander" Court Hawley on bass, and Robert "Meaty Bob" Johnson on drums. Throughout their career, Impaler has performed original compositions alongside cover songs from influential bands such as Kiss, Alice Cooper, and Motörhead. Bill Lindsey stands as the sole continuing member from the band's inception, having maintained Impaler's presence in the music scene for over three decades.
