Incantation

About

Formed in 1989 by John McEntee and Paul Ledney, Incantation is an American death metal band that has become a leading force in the New York City death metal scene alongside Suffocation, Mortician, and Immolation, despite the band's members being based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Throughout their career, the band has released an extensive catalog including twelve full-length albums, two live albums, four EPs, two singles, three split-EPs, one DVD, and three demos. John McEntee, who serves as guitarist and vocalist, remains the sole continuous member of the band, while drummer Kyle Severn has contributed to every studio album since their third full-length release, Diabolical Conquest. Since the 1990s, Incantation has maintained a dedicated cult following and sustained underground popularity within the metal community. Their most recent album, Unholy Deification, was released through Relapse Records in August 2023.
