Born on July 13, 1946, João Bosco de Freitas Mucci is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist known professionally as João Bosco. With a career spanning more than five decades, he has established himself as a significant figure in Brazilian music. In 2008, Rolling Stone Brazil recognized his contributions to the industry by naming him number 63 of the "100 Greatest Brazilian Music Artists of All Time." Bosco is celebrated for his extensive solo career as well as his historic collaborations with other artists in the genre of MPB, or Brazilian Popular Music. His most notable partnerships include work with iconic singer Elis Regina and with lyricist and creative partner Aldir Blanc, with whom he developed a lasting creative relationship that helped define his artistic legacy.
