Born on February 12, 2001, João Victor Gomes da Silva, professionally known as João Gomes, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder. He currently represents Premier League club Aston Villa and competes for the Brazil national team. Gomes developed his skills through the Flamengo academy before launching his professional career with the club in 2020. He quickly established himself as a key player in the midfield and achieved considerable success during his time there, winning several major honours including the 2022 Copa Libertadores. His impressive performances in South American football attracted international attention and led to his transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2023. At the international level, Gomes made his senior debut for Brazil in March 2024, marking an important milestone in his career.
