Leon Eric "Kix" Brooks III is an American country music artist, actor, and film producer born on May 12, 1955. He is best known as one half of the duo Brooks & Dunn, alongside Ronnie Dunn, with whom he performed for twenty years. Before forming the duo, Brooks worked as a singer and songwriter, charting twice on Hot Country Songs and releasing an album for Capitol Records. Following the conclusion of Brooks & Dunn, both members pursued solo careers, with Brooks releasing the album New to This Town. In addition to his music career, Brooks has hosted radio's American Country Countdown. His contributions to country music were recognized in 2019 when he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of Brooks & Dunn.
