About

Laufey is an Icelandic singer-songwriter known for blending jazz pop and classical music. Born on April 23, 1999, she began her musical career as a cello soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra at age 15. She went on to become a finalist in the 2014 edition of Ísland Got Talent and a semifinalist on The Voice Iceland in 2015. After graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Laufey released her debut EP, Typical of Me, in 2021. Her debut album, Everything I Know About Love, followed in 2022 and charted across Iceland and the United States. In 2023, she released her second album, Bewitched, which won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards and produced the hit single "From the Start." Her third album, A Matter of Time, was released on August 22, 2025, and also won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
