Leslie Edward Claypool is best known as the founder, lead singer, bassist, and primary songwriter of Primus. Ranked among the greatest bassists of all time by Rolling Stone, he employs a unique playing style combining tapping, flamenco-like strumming, whammy bar bends, and slapping and popping. Beyond Primus, Claypool has participated in numerous projects including Oysterhead, Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, and The Claypool Lennon Delirium. He also leads experimental rock projects and has produced recordings from his California studio, Rancho Relaxo. Primus has performed the South Park theme song since 1997.
