About
LIE is the name of multiple artists in the music world. One notable incarnation was an indie-rock band from St. Petersburg, Florida, that was active from 1991 until 1996. The band featured John McNicholas on vocals and guitar, Benton Jones on bass and vocals, and Dan Eggleston and Jeff Beyer on drums. During their time together, LIE released several recordings, including their 1991 debut album Molly, Mark + Madison, which contained 12 songs. In 1993, they released So Happy for You, So Miserable for Me, a 23-song album that showcased their indie-rock sound. Beyond their original releases, the band appeared on various compilation albums, including Fat Frog's Favorite Florida Bands Vol. 1 in 1992, Kustomized Volume 1 in 1996, and Godfathers of Change Vol 1, a tribute to the Smiths released in 1996. There are also other artists who have performed under the LIE name, including a Japanese thrashcore band and a Texas-based hardcore band.
