Lil Maru was a male Scottish Straight cat who lived in Japan from May 24, 2007 to September 6, 2025. He became widely known through his YouTube presence, where videos featuring him accumulated over 582 million views. At one point in his life, Maru held the Guinness World Record for the most YouTube video views of an individual animal. He was widely recognized and described as the most famous cat on the internet.
