Lost in the Sound of Separation is the sixth studio album by American rock band Underoath, released in September 2008. Recorded in Atlanta following internal tensions that nearly dissolved the band, the album blends metalcore, post-hardcore, and screamo with industrial elements. Produced with Adam Dutkiewicz and Matt Goldman, it showcases a more experimental sound while refining their previous work. The album debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 56,000 copies in its first week and receiving favorable critical reception.
