Lowlives is a rock band formed in 2016 by drummer Luke Anthony "Jocko" Johnson and Lee Downer, the former frontman of the Defiled. Johnson is an English rock drummer born on 11 March 1981 who began his music career in the late 1990s performing with small local West Midlands punk and metal bands. He subsequently drummed for the California punk band Amen from 2003 to 2005, then formed Beat Union as drummer and songwriter alongside Dave Warsop, Dean Ashton and Mark Andrews. Johnson joined Welsh alternative rock band Lostprophets in 2009 and remained with them until their disbanding in 2013. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with producer John Feldmann, who has worked with Good Charlotte, The Used and Kelly Clarkson, and has performed session work for various bands including The Wonder Stuff and Foxy Shazam. Lowlives released their first EP, Burn Forever, in 2018 and their debut full-length album, Freaking Out, in 2024.
